Since iOS 16, thanks to the Shortcuts app, it is possible to automatically launch the anti-spam update at regular intervals, in order to have the most up-to-date database possible and thus be better protected from spam calls.
Below we offer a simple tutorial to do this. Note that another article is available if you wish to supplement the use of the shortcut with other settings such as displaying an execution confirmation notification.
- Start by launching Apple's "Shortcuts" app. A list of all shortcuts that are pre-installed or previously installed by you is displayed.
- Tap the “Automation” button at the bottom of your screen
- Tap “New Automation”
- Select "Time of day"
- Set the desired auto-update time and Select “Repeat daily”
- Then select “Run immediately” and push the “Notify when Run” button to the right to activate this choice.
- Press “Next” then scroll down until you see the “Orange Phone” line and press it.
- Tap “Update anti-spam”
- Your automation is well created. You can tap on it to see the details and modify it if needed.
Note: if you wish to execute the update action manually without automated action, you can do so via one of the following methods.
-
- manually press the pre-installed Orange Phone “Refresh Orange Phone anti-spam” shortcut
. add this shortcut to the home screen through the three points menu
