During an incoming call, spam information is provided from the anti-spam database downloaded locally on your terminal. More info here.
Therefore, you must ensure that your anti-spam protection is active and that the locally downloaded anti-spam database is as up-to-date as possible. However, this update of the locally downloaded anti-spam database is effective only when the application is launched.
To help you ensure that the app is running, we have introduced several features into the app:
- Running a background task to refresh the list every 24 hours (only when the app is launched, and provided background refresh permission is active). So make sure you are not in “Energy saving” mode.
- Programming an auto-update of the anti-spam with a shortcut (in the iOS Shortcuts application). Follow our explanations.
- Added a widget to display the anti-spam status and allow easy updating. Follow our explanations.
- Automatic addition of a reminder (in the iOS Reminders application) to regularly open the Orange Phone app.
- Notification every week on Wednesday afternoon for those who still have an outdated database despite everything: “Open Orange Phone regularly to stay protected from unwanted calls! Click to open the app»
